Possible energetic effects in the use of hard city wastes in Skopje (Macedonia)
- 1. Faculty of Mechanical engineering, St. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje (Macedonia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of)
Description
The average quantity of the solid waste is 1,2 kg. per inhabitant daily in Skopje. The theoretical quantity of the municipal waste is 2400 t/day, or 876 000 t annually. Theoretically, having 25% combustion materials in the total waste's mass, the quantity of a daily available heat is 118 444 KW, i.e. the available combustion heat is 94 755 KW, or 830 Wh annually. The heat can be used directly for heating, as well as for electric power generation. The possibility of construction an energetic plant for municipal waste combustion in Skopje is also presented. 5 refs., 6 tabs., 1 fig., 1 ill
