A novel ultra-high vacuum manipulator with six degrees of freedom
- 1. Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica, San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina). Centro Atomico Bariloche
Description
An ultra-high vacuum goniometer of novel design for use in experiments with ion beams is described. The goniometer uses a wire system to transmit movements, is bakeable to 2000C and is reproducible in its angular positions to within 1.3 X 10-4 rad (0.0080). It allows a sample to be rotated around two axes over 3600, around a third over 1800, and to be translated along three perpendicular axes. (Auth.)
