Sludge distribution in a scale model recirculating steam generator

Description

A scale model of the Westinghouse Model F steam generator was operated for three years under similar operating conditions to those of a full scale steam generator. As part of the decommissioning the scale model, the steam generator was taken apart and inspected. Photographs and descriptions of sludge deposition patterns from the tube bundle were recorded. This paper describes the sludge deposit in patterns and discusses the correlation of these deposition patterns with steam generator thermal hydraulic conditions
