Accident management measures
Description
By means of a defense-in-depth concept, also within the framework of accident management measures, it is possible to further reduce the residual design basis risk above all for the environment, so that an intolerable impairment of or damage to the environment can practically be precluded. This is demonstrated by giving the Philippsburg 900 MW BWR type reactor and the 1300 MW PWR type reactor as examples. (orig./DG)

Durch ein 'defence-in-depth-Konzept' auch innerhalb der Notfallmassnahmen gelingt es, das im Rahmen der Auslegung verbleibende Restrisiko vor allem fuer die Umgebung weiter zu reduzieren, so dass eine nicht tolerierbare Beeintraechtigung bzw. Schaedigung der Umgebung praktisch ausgeschlossen werden kann. Dies wird an den Beispielen der 900 MW-SWR bzw. 1300 MW-DWR in Philippsburg demonstriert. (orig./DG)Additional details
