Method of fuel assembly power control by gaseous absorber for experimental study of power reactor fuel elements in the MR reactor under power transients

Description

For performing investigations on power reactor fuel elements service-ability in the MR reactor under power transients a specialized reactor facility with autonomus power control of experimental fuel assembly using helium-3 neutron absorber has been developed and designed. The results of calculational and experimental study of possibilities of using the method of gas control in the MR reactor which are illustrated by experimental data of WWER-1000-type dfuel element tests in cyclic modes are presented. The results of these investigations confirm ample opportunities of the method for power control with a helium-3 neutron gaseous absorber and the correctness of the technique selection
