Variation of electric conductivity of gadolinium oxide in polymorphous transition

Description

The CaO effect on Gd2O3 C-form electric conductivity is traced. For stUdying gadolinium oxide electric conductivity in various structural forms the Gd2O3 samples have been synthesized with addition of 0.5 and .3.0 mol. % of CaO doped with 1 mass. % of Li2O. It is shoWn that the value and activation energy of gadolinium oxide conductivity in B- and C-forms are distinguished substantially. In monoclinic modification the electric conductivity is higher Whereas the activation energy of conductivity is lower as compared with the cubic one. Calcium oxide not changing the kinetics of cubic-monoclinic transformations, for the C-form of gadolinium oxide also plays the role of active doping addition
