Description

Multi-compartment tests to study the transport behaviour of molecular iodine in reactor containments during severe accidents are being performed in the ThAl facility at a technical scale. This paper provides a description of the ThAl facility with emphasis on the iodine instrumentation, as well as preliminary results of iodine tests with emphasis on the multi-compartment test Iod-12. It shows the potential to develop and validate the iodine model AIM in COCOSYS on the ThAl iodine data. (orig.)
