Ion/molecule reactions of monocyclic carbon cluster ions Cn.+, (n=10-20)

Description
We investigated the reactions of carbon cluster ions Cn+ (n = 10 - 20) with the unsaturated substrates acrylonitrile (ACN), CH2 = CH-CN, crotononitrile (CRN), CH3-CH=CH-CN, 2-chloropropene (PCL), CH2=CCl-CH3, and allylchloride (ACL), (CH2 = CH-CH2Cl) by FT-ICR spectrometry. The carbon cluster ions were generated by electron impact induced dechlorination of suitable perchloroarenes in the external ion source of a Bruker Spectrospin CMS 47X FT-ICR spectrometer and reacted in the ICR cell with the appropriate neutral substrate at a pressure of 1x10-8 - 5x10-7 mbar3.
