Localized 5f-electrons in metallic UAsSe

Description
The density of states of metallic UAsSe as measured by UPS and XPS displays two structures at the Fermi level and 2.6 eV below it. The dependence of their relative intensity on the photon energy shows their f-character. The presence of two discrete f-levels reflects final-state effects and thus is an indication for the localized behavior of the 5f-electrons in UAsSe. (author)
