Test of a barium fluoride calorimeter with photodiode readout between 2 and 40 GeV incident energy
Description
Results from a test of a small BaF2 calorimeter are presented. A novel readout scheme using fluorescent flux concentrators and silicon photodiodes is used. A resolution of about 1% has been measured for electrons between 4 and 40 GeV. Prospects and limitations are discussed. (orig.)
