Measurements of the beam quality on KU-FEL linac
Description
An infrared FEL facility for advanced energy research is under construction at the Institute of Advanced Energy, Kyoto University. An S-band linac with a thermionic RF gun have been installed and measurement of beam quality has been performed until the entrance of the accelerator tube. The energy spread of below 5% and above 100 mA beam current was measured. The emittance of 8 πmm mrad in horizontal and 15 πmm mrad in vertical at the gun section was obtained by the tomographic method. PARMELA calculation well reproduced both in the energy spectrum and in the emittance
