HYBRID. Ga-FAPI-PET/MRI reveals additional tumours in breast carcinomas

Description
Integrated PET/MRI is a promising modality for the combined morphological and functional staging of breast carcinomas. The most common tracer is F-fluorodeoxyglucose. Alternatively, Ga-FAPI-46 is available. Tumour-associated fibroblasts overexpress the fibroblast activation protein FAP. So far, tracer accumulation in breast carcinomas had not been investigated.

Die integrierte PET/MRT ist eine vielversprechende Modalität für das kombinierte morphologische und funktionelle Staging von Mammakarzinomen. Häufigster Tracer ist F-Fluordesoxyglucose. Alternativ steht Ga-FAPI-46 zur Verfügung. Tumorassoziierte Fibroblasten überexprimieren das Fibroblasten-Aktivierungsprotein FAP.
