Description

The design and calculated formulae for determination of parameters of a thyratron-reactor assembly - a device for commutation of high-current nanosecond pulses comprising a thyratron and series connected one-coil non-linear reactor placed in a coaxial screen are given and described. Operation of the thyratron-reactor assembly in the TGI 1-1000/25 thyratron at commutation of pulses with the amplitude up to 10 kA and duration of 250 ns is investigated. Current rise time is 200 kA/μs, pulse repetition frequency is 200 Hz, average commutated power was 5 kW. The described commutator is designed for a high-current nanosecond pulse generators used as power supplies for linear induction accelerators
