Composition of the gas in the blisters which develop when a hydrogen or deuterium plasma acts upon austenitic steels

Description

This investigation has shown that blisters which were formedon the surface of austenitic steels under the influence of pulsed currents of a hydrogen or deuterium plasma contain- in addition to hydrogen (deuterium)- hydrocarbons, particularly methane, the presence of which helps to explain the behavior of the blisters in subsequent heating
