Description
The Swiss North East Power Stations Co. Ltd. (NOK) is one of the largest and most efficient corner stones of Switzerland's electricity supply. The history and organisation of the company is given together with its importance within the framework of the Swiss generating industry. Figures are given of the total number of power stations in Switzerland and of total generating capacity, the ratio of hydro and nuclear electricity generation, rising consumption in recent years and growing expansion of the network even beyond the frontier of Switzerland, the investment costs involved and finally the safety provisions for the network.
