Cylindrical high-pressure xenon detector of gamma radiation

Description
The paper describes the structure and characteristics of a cylindrical ionization chamber filled with xenon at a pressure of 55 atm. The detector's energy resolution at the 662-keV line for the optimal gas pressure and composition, high voltage, and shaping time of the output pulse is 4%. The energy resolution is nearly constant with temperatures ranging from 20-170 degrees C. Applications of cylindrical detectors in geology, geophysics, and oil well investigations are considered
