Studies on unevenness of papers by means of β-radiography
- 1. Innovatext Kutato es Fejlesztoe Vallalat, Budapest (Hungary)
Description
The surface density of papers was determined by beta-absorption measurement. The samples were irradiated by a sup(14)C-poly-methyl-methacrylate source of large surface area. The absorbed radiation was detected using an autoradiographic film, the blackening of which was evaluated. High sensitivity of about 2 g/msup(2), the independence of the composition of the paper, the linear relationship between the surface density and the blackening can be regarded as the major advantages of the method.
