Possibility of mass separation utilizing multiple nuclear scattering at high energy

Creators

Description

It is found that the dispersion of a beam of high-energy particles in passing through a medium is dominated by multiple nuclear scattering and is mass-dependent. This leads to the possibility of mass separation of a momentum-analyzed beam of charged particles. The feasibility of such a separation is discussed.
