Description
There is a lot of hope pinned on hydrogen as a fuel to replace all fossil fuel. This may sound too ambitious, but a lot of innovation is going on to make the hydrogen economy a reality. As a carbon-free energy carrier, hydrogen can make a major contribution to reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution and thus help to protect the climate. Without increased use of hydrogen, it will hardly be possible to reduce global CO2 emissions to the levels needed to meet climate protection and ambitious political targets. In other words: Without hydrogen and the chemical energy carriers based on it, global, successful climate protection is simply not possible. (author)
