The multi-purpose function of pumped-storage and nuclear power stations designed as a common project

In various countries, investigations are being conducted to find out what economic advantages are offered in service by a common planning and construction of nuclear and pumped-storage power stations. Advantages such as savings in capital expenditure result from a multiple use of certain equipment elements as well as from combining the power transmission facilities. Examples of plant already constructed or still in the planning stage are given. Favourable topographical, geographical and geological conditions are, however, a necessity to enable the realisation of such projects. (Auth.)
