Experimental determination of acoustic phonons is LiTaO3

The acoustic phonon dispersion curves of the lithium tantalate crystal are measured in the two principal symmetry direction [00ξ] and [0ξ0] by coherent inelastic neutron scattering. The sound velocities in the crystal are deduced from the slope of these branches at low q
