Description
Abstract—
The Fourier component of the potential energy of interaction between an atom and an atomic plane is represented in the form of a fourth-degree polynomial of the atomic factor. Numerical calculation is carried out in the approximation of the screened Coulomb potential. It is shown that the inclusion of the Pauli principle leads to a potential barrier and an additional region of attraction between the atom and the atomic plane. It is shown that this model describes the potential energy of interaction between a carbon atom and a graphene sheet satisfactorily.Additional details
