Analysis of substitution of different forms of energy in industry - Research final report + Synthesis

Description

This research aimed at performing empirical studies on the assessment of possibilities of substitution between the various forms of energies used in the industrial sector. The authors first report a statistical analysis of various public statistical data. Then, they report the first econometric works performed by using SESSI data (public statistics). Assessments are performed by means of models which have been rarely used with micro-economic data. Existing theoretical models have been tested on available data, and new assessment techniques have been used in order to take more detailed energy demand systems into account. The next part reports the development of a producer's behaviour model while taking into account the uncertainty faced when choosing energy equipment (uncertainty regarding the demand to the company, or future relative prices of energy)
