Circuit activity models: current status and future development

Description

This paper reviews the current status of the various codes for estimating radioactivity levels around the primary circuit of fast reactors due to deposited corrosion products. None of the codes is described in detail; the UK code is outlined as a typical case, and attention is drawn to important aspects of other codes in current use. The paper goes on to describe the relatively small amount of work which has been done on codes for fission product release, transport and deposition. Comparisons between code estimates and measurements are given. Finally, the current status of codes is summarised and suggestions are made about future developments to increase their scope and accuracy
