Specific interaction between (CCL4 /CHCL3-C2H5OH) mixture: a matrix isolation infrared study
- 1. Department of Chemistry, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Pilani Campus, Vidya Vihar (India)
Description
Specific interaction between 1:1 complex of non-polar solvents (CCl4 and CHCl3) with ethanol have been studied using Matrix Isolation Infrared spectroscopy. 1:1 mixture of (CCl4-EtOH) is stabilised by only halogen bond while (CHCl3-EtOH) is stabilised by both hydrogen and halogen bond interaction.
