Quantum chromodynamics and large transverse momentum particle production
Description
The effective power behaviour of single particle distributions at large transverse momentum according to quantum chromodynamics perturbation theory is discussed considering and without considering the influence of the parton transverse momentum. The predicted single particle and single jet distributions agree reasonably well with present data. Predictions of the quantum chromodynamics approach are discussed which should confirm that this is the right mechanism. They include: Single particle distributions at the energy of p anti p colliders or ISABELLE, large-transverse-momentum particle production by polarized hadrons and production of 3 jets, for instance quark-quark → quark, quark, gluon.
