Design of superconducting thin film characterization system with microwave

  • 1. CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, Dr. K.S. Krishnan Marg, New Delhi-110012 (India)

Description

To explore the potential use of superconducting materials and devices with microwave frequency, a Cryostat system for microwave measurements at low temperature has been designed. The temperature is lowered down to 1.5 K by simply pumping the bath. The tail portion of the system has been customized to incorporate an electromagnet to study samples at low magnetic field. Transport properties of the Superconducting thin films fabricated at different growth conditions were studied under low magnetic field. The design of Cryostat system, microwave probe with sample holder and the few results obtained with the system is presented. (author)
