World uranium reserves and resources

Description

For a better knowledge of uranium reserves and resources, some nations (USA, Canada) have been undertaking large evaluation programs of their national potential. Moreover NEA (OECD) and IAEA carry on since 1965 a similar world-wide program. On the basis or these results, estimations of reasonably assured resources and supplementary estimated resources in the world are given as a function of uranium prices. Non-conventional resources which could be exploitable in a remote future are outlined

Abstract (French)

Pour atteindre une meilleure connaissance des reserves et ressources d'uranium, certains pays comme les USA et le Canada ont entrepris de vastes programmes d'evaluation de leur potentiel national. Par ailleurs l'AEN (OCDE) et l'AIEA poursuivent en commun depuis 1965 un programme semblable sur le plan international. Sur la base de ces travaux, on donne des estimations des ressources raisonnablement assurees et des ressources supplementaires estimees dans le monde en fonction du prix de l'uranium. On mentionne enfin les ressources non-conventionnelles qui pourraient entrer en exploitation dans un avenir plus ou moins lointain
