Analytical determination of traces of cadmium in inorganic matrices by atomic fluorescence with electrothermal atomization

  • 1. Karl-Marx-Universitaet, Leipzig (German Democratic Republic). Sektion Chemie

Description

A method for the determination of traces of cadmium in inorganic substances (Ga, As, Al, GaAs) by atomic fluorescence with electrothermal atomization is described. The optimized parameters of the self-made AF-spectrometer and the micro-wave excited, self-made Cd-EDL are given. The influence of the matrices on the Cd-AFS is discussed. It is shown, that determinations of traces of Cd are possible in easy and truly vaporisable inorganic matrices by optimization of the volatilization processes. The detection limits are: 0,2 ppb, 5,6 ppb, 44 ppb, 2,5 ppb and 85 ppb relative to 10 mg acid, 1,25 mg Ga, 0,05 mg Al, 1,34 mg As and 0,25 mg GaAs. (author)
