Cosmic rays in the 21 solar cycle maximum according to measurements by means of the ''Meteor'' satellite
Description
Investigations of solar cosmic rays (SCR) and galactic cosmic rays are carried out using the ''Meteor'' satellite. The data on time, spectral, and space characteristics of protons with energies Esub(p) > 5-90 MeV are obtained. More than 140 SCR events were observed in high-latitude zones of the Earth magnitosphere from 1969 till May, 1981. The proton integral spectrum is presented in the exponential form I=Isub(0)Esup(-#betta#). In 65% of all SCR events the amplitude of the north-south asymmetry A does not exceed 20% in the maximum of development of proton flux; in 25% of all SCR events A constitutes 20-40%. The unambiguous connection of the north-south asymmetry with the direction of the interplanetary magnetic field radial component is broken in 10% of all cases. The spectrum index maximum #betta#sub(max) drops with the growth of a geliolatitude of solar flares of the west hemisphere. The minimum value corresponds to the 40-60 deg W latitude range. The data on variations of proton intensity and south-north asymmetry of proton fluxes with the energy of Esub(p) > 65-90 MeV are presented
