Description

The problems of high current beam (HCB) production in different modifications of reflection systems, dynamics of charged flux accumulation in the systems and anode plasma production are considered. The main characteristics of magneto-insulated diode systems are given and the HCB production principles are described. The problems of HCB formation in diodes with a high aspect relation rsub(c)/d, where rsub(c) is the cathode radius and d is the distance between the cathode and anode are elucidated. The problems of HCB neutralization, transport and focusing are given. It is shown that HCB are of interest for controlled thermonuclear fusion in installations of stationary and inertial plasma confinement, in the first place. The HCB perspectives both for neutron flux production and for short wave laser pumping, in particular, while using coaxial focusing geometries without HCB leading out of the diode system
