Extraction of perchloric acid by organophosphorus compounds

Creators

Description

The extraction of HClO4 from 1-12 M solutions into 0.1 M solutions of tri-n-butyl phosphate, tri-n-octylphosphine oxide, di-n-heptylphosphinic acid, and binary mixtures of them in toluene was studied. The following were discovered: a superequivalent (against a 1:1 composition) extraction of HClO4 by TOPO from aqueous solutions with HClO4 concentrations more than 10 M; extraction by DHPA in the form of a 1:1 complex; synergism in the extraction of HClO4 by equimolar mixtures of DHPA with TBP or TOPO
