Description
The authors have carried out extensive high precision, high resolution calculations of the electronic structure and properties of La/sub 2-x/M/sub x/CuO/sub 4/ and YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/-δ using an all-electron state of the art local density approach. These provide important information about the properties of the superconducting materials and provide insight into the possible underlying mechanism of their observed high temperature superconductivity. This paper gives a very brief summary of the results obtained
