Computed double-contrast arthrotomography of the shoulder joint: Correlation with video-arthroscopy
Description
Double-contrast arthro-CT has been shown to be accurate in evaluating intraarticular pathology of the shoulder joint. Radiologists, however, often have difficulty understanding the anatomic defects that this study demonstrates. Understanding the surgical pathology is helpful in interpretation and in communicating test results to clinicians. This paper uses dual video recordings to demonstrate traumatic shoulder joint pathology, including tears of the anterior and posterior glenoid labrum, capsule tears and glenoid fractures. One recording demonstrates the arthroscopy, while the other recording shows the corresponding arthro-CT images. The simultaneous projection of these images is helpful in learning the complex surgical anatomy and pathology of this joint
