Action of boron bromide on trialkylarsenites

Description
Mechanism of boron tribromide interaction with trialkylarsenites, resulting in the formation of As3+ bromide, is considered. It is shown that the maximum yield of arsenic bromide (66-71 %) is attained in case of reaction without solvent and with cooling (-5 - 7 deg C) and (RO)3As:BBr reagent ratio equal to 1:1.25
