Ferrokinetic study in plasma with stable isotopes as tracers

Description
We developed a methodology for ferrokinetic studies based on the administration of iron stable isotopes, in particular 57-Fe and 58-Fe, as tracers. The analysis of the iron content in plasma samples has been made by proton nuclear activation. Plasma clearance and intestinal iron absorption in rabbits have been determined by the double tracer technique. The results have been compared with those obtained from the administration of radioactive iron isotopes and the agreement has been satisfactory
