The macroscopic model of trapped-particle modes in tandem mirrors
Description
In this paper, the collisionless trapped-particle modes are studied through the macroscopic approach. The results are the same as those derived from gyro-kinetics have been obtained. These include: the stabilizing effect of charge separation, and linear variation of the vibration inertia with the passing particle density in plugs
