Description

The gap equation for the constituent-quark mass in the U(2)xU(2) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model is investigated in 1/Nc approximation. It is shown that to ensure the correct description of quark masses in this approximation, it is important to take into account scalar isovector mesons.
