Intermodulation of the two incommensurate waves in Bi2-xPbxSr2CaCu2Oy superconducting crystals
- 1. Centre National d'Etudes des Telecommunications, 196 avenue Henri Ravera, 92220 Bagneux, France (France)
Description
X-ray precession experiments on X-ray precession experiments onBi1.75Pb0.25Sr2CaCu2Oy single crystals show that, beside the previously reported incommensurate satellites at q1 = δb*+c* and q2 = δ2b*, there are reflections at (q1+q2) and (q1-q2). This result shows that lead addition in (2:2:1:2) bismuth compounds can induce, homogeneously in the crystal, a doubly modulated (q1,q2) state corresponding to an intermodulation of the two commensurate waves with wave vectors q1 and q2
