Preliminary design for the muon longitudinal polarization in KL → μμ decays

Description

As a natural extension of our experiment (E137) at KEK we have a plan to measure the muon longitudinal polarization in KL → μμ. Non-zero polarization in the process indicates P and CP violation. The polarization is sensitive to the light Higgs contribution in the Standard Model. We will expect to measure the polarization with an accuracy of about 20%. (Author) (7 refs., 4 figs.)
