Internal exposure to 222Rn progeny of the underground workers of Burgas copper mines in 1962-1990
Description
The results of Rn and 222 Rn progeny measurements made in 1962-1990 in mines 'Propadnala voda', 'Rosen' and 'Meden rid' of the Bourgas Copper Mining Company have been summarized. The levels of WLM-exposure have been determined for each of the mines. As a whole the radiological condition in these mines was found unfavourable, especially in 1978-1988. The cancer risk estimates made have shown that the main proportion of lung cancers among miners worked during the whole 1978-88 interval are most probably caused by occupational exposure
