Description
The purpose of this study is to determine ideal conditions for the preparation of 115m In-Diethylenetriamine Pentaacetic Acid. This labelled compound would be useful in studies of renal function and in the diagnose of tissue rejection by patients submitted to renal transplants. The 115m In-DTPA was injected i.v. mouse weighting about 25 g to investigate its biological distribution. The results showed that few minutes after administration high uptake radiation was found in kidneys when compared with other organs. High levels were also found in bladder. These data together with radiochemical purity, sterility, and apyrogenic studies recommend this radiopharmaceuticals for application in scintilographic studies of patients with renal disorders.
