Heat and mass transfer with a mist formation in a turbulent duct flow
- 1. Kanazawa Univ. (Japan). Faculty of Technology
Description
Heat and Mass transfer with a mist formation in a turbulent convective flow are discussed for air-water vapor system on the basis of the application of ''Saturation Model'': all excess supersaturated vapor condensates on foreign nuclei, and the temperature and concentration co-existing fields are kept in equilibrium state thermodynamically. Experiments are performed under the fully developed turbulent flow between horizontal isothermal parallel plates. Photographic observations are made, in addition to the measurement of velocity, temperature, and transfer coefficients. Numerical analyses are made by using an implicit finite-difference scheme along with a turbulent two-equation model for velocity profiles, and are compared with the experimental results. (author)
