Description
A study has been performed with the purpose to ascertain the possibilities of using neutron activation analysis in non-destructive determination of several elements present in zirconium and its alloys. Those elements must be limited within acceptable top levels, in accordance to standards for nuclear applications. The experimental techniques used are described and the results obtained are discussed, showing that the method is adequate for determining Cl, Co, Hf, Mn, and W, but not Ni and U. (M.E.L.)
