Description
The theoretical studies on betavoltaic microbatteries using low-level radiation from radioisotope thin films are presented. The model of n+p-junction and p+n-junction betavoltaic energy converters are constructed, and optimized with respect to maximum electron energy usage and maximum output power generation under two constraints, and the optimal solution was obtained numerically. The performances of two types of betavoltaic microbatteries are compared respectively. (authors)
