This paper describes the activities at the Instituto de Fusion Nuclear - DENIM - related to inertial fusion energy target design and fluid dynamic simulations, inertial fusion features in degenerate plasmas, atomic physics, activation of materials: safety and environmental issues, radiation damage of fusion materials, tritium atmospheric diffusion and environmental pathways to human chain.
