Determination and comparison of pipeline transport costs for various energy sources

The energy prices to be paid by the consumer are determined by the availability and production cost of the energy sources as well as by the cost of transport. In the field of pipeline transport, the specific transport costs of various energy sources that will continue to be important also in the future have been compared under realistic, comparable boundary conditions. The findings are presented as a function of transport rate and distance and show the cost relations between the different energy sources. They provide information on site selection and on the product structure of future large-scale energy conversion systems, e.g. coal gasification and liquefaction plants. (orig.)
