Effects of ionizing radiation during the disposal of radioactive wastes into geological formations

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Fizicheskoj Khimii

Description

Basic propositions related to the specific features of the thermal and radiation influence of high-activity wastes on the geologic environment of repositories are considered. Boundary values of admissible dose loads on protective barriers on the basis of aluminium silicate minerals are proposed. Data on the effects of ionizing radiation on the surface properties of minerals are put forward. (author)
