Description
The kinetics studies about anodic dissolution of metallic uranium in 1,2,3 3 4 mol L-1 HNO3 solutions at 30 deg C were carried out using Potentiostatic Polarization. The amount of uranium dissolved was analysed by polarografic analysis and the anodic dissolution rates by the initial rates method. The dissolution rate arises with enhances of the applied potential, but is independent of HNO3 concentration because the rate law is zero order. A mechanism for anodic reaction based in Adsorption Theory was suggested. (author)
