Contribution of radiofrequency without resonance fields to structural and dynamical studies in solution by nuclear magnetic resonance

Description

During the last few year, several experiments using off-resonance rf irradiation have been described for structural and dynamic studies of biomolecules in liquid state NMR. First, a concise description of the calculation leading to the expression of relaxation rates and a summary of the intrinsic advantages of such methods are given. The resulting off-resonance ROESY sequence enables the structural study of a kinds of molecules. The problem of internal dynamics is then discussed, focussing on the interest of using off-resonance rf fields. Several experiments using them are described and compared with other procedures. Finally the trends of NMR development concerning the study of internal dynamics are mentioned. (authors). 90 refs., 4 figs
